UNDP:联合国开发计划署是联合国开发计划管理委员会，1965年根据联合国大会而成立，由48个国家的代表组成，其中的27个席位由发展中国家派代表参加，全部代表席位每年更换1/3。

联合国开发计划署成立的目的在于帮助发展中国家提高其自然资源和人力资源的创造物质财富的能力。凡接受UNDP援助的国家，都要在该国设立一个地方办事处，负责协调所有的联合国技术援助项目，为政府制定国家计划提供建议，检查地区活动的开展情况。

作为联合国技术援助方面的计划管理机构，UNDP的援助资金来源于联合国成员国的自愿捐款，援款是无偿的。援款的基本单位是项目，援助项目活动主要搞投资前活动和技术合作。援助的主要内容包括提供、派遣专家进行咨询服务、资助受援国的境外考察、培训活动，提供少量设备和仪器。

World leaders have pledged to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, including the overarching goal of cutting poverty in half by 2015. UNDP's network links and coordinates global and national efforts to reach these Goals.

UNDP helps developing countries attract and use aid effectively. In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights, capacity development and the empowerment of women.

The annual Human Development Report, commissioned by UNDP, focuses the global debate on key development issues, providing new measurement tools, innovative analysis and often controversial policy proposals. The global Report's analytical framework and inclusive approach carry over into regional, national and local Human Development Reports, also supported by UNDP.

In each country office, the UNDP Resident Representative normally also serves as the Resident Coordinator of development activities for the United Nations system as a whole. Through such coordination, UNDP seeks to ensure the most effective use of UN and international aid resources.
